Mark Pepperell started trading as Suspended Ceiling Services (SCS) in August 1988 with only $2000, no vehicle and no idea of what lay ahead. Mark had previously worked for Pinex Fixing Services were he learned the trade of suspended ceilings.

Since 1988, the following year SCS grew its services to include plaster board linings, plastering, steel stud partitioning and insulation.

By 1991 Suspended Ceiling Services became a Limited company and Waikato Suspended Ceilings Ltd (WSCS) as we know it today was born. At this point Mark had employed 8 staff, one of which is still with WSCS today. In 1998, Ewan Cameron purchased 50% of the company and together they built the company to where it is today, a major player in the suspended ceiling industry servicing the Waikato and surrounding districts and employing over 40 men in peak times.

In 2009, Mark's son Daniel joined Bay of Plenty Suspended Ceilings to be part of WSCS and together now own 100% of the business.
